THIS QUOTE IS HYSTERICAL!!!
I think part of the respect for elders in Asian cultures is allowing them to be active members of the household. Elders are a vital and important part of the household, and this is often displayed through their household responsibilities--cooking, cleaning, taking care of the kids, etc. The elders are still "usefull," still "needed," and make valuable contributions to the household.
Very different from our relationships with our grandparents/other elders.
