My organized crime in America class has spent a lot of time discussing the "mafia myth". Many members of organized crime are not Italian, even within the Italian families. I'm editing my paper at the moment on Meyer Lansky, definitely not Italian. A lot of organized crime groups/families/syndicates were multi-ethnic, really fascinating stuff.

I watched the show on A&E last night and I think I understand what you're saying. The way they are portrayed could easily put them on the Sopranos or in a Godfather movie. I am sure there is a lot of creative editing going on.

The Airline show is insane. The way people act is just ridiculous. So many of them screw up and miss their flights. I don't care for Southwest at all, and luckily living on the west coast I can almost exclusively fly Alaska Airlines. Alaska really takes good care of you if there is an overbooking, and even when I have missed a flight for various reasons, had extra luggage or overweight luggage, or almost anything they have been wonderful. The Southwest passengers that carry on need some personal responsibility and manners.
