Ok, he didn't get out of control. He didn't like a call, spit some sunflower seeds at the ump, got asked to leave and did so. I used to umpire the 13yr old league in my home town and that's NOTHING compared to some of the shit I went through that summer. I would have just asked him to calm down and enjoy the rest of the game or he'd be asked to leave.
Now when I umpired the 13yr old leauge I was 15 (almost 16). #1 - dad's don't like female umpires that know more about the game than they do.
#2 - dad's don't like when (female) umpires make fair calls all day long and then their team loses.
#3 - dad's don't like it when the female ump calls the cops to have them removed from the property! :lol:
I would warn parents once and if they got too roudy I would tell them they had to leave and when they refused to leave I gave them one more chance with a warnign that I would call the police. Well, one dad didn't think I was serious and didn't realize that I lived next door to the police station and they knew me VERY well so when I called they were there within 5 minutes.
It also helps that I'm from a small town so you can get anywhere within 10, maybe 15 minutes at the most.
