Gah. I finally was able to read the TWOP summary of last week's ep (which I and my husband missed, grr!), only to find that the dad and daughter had been eliminated.
This week was partially hilarious, though disgusting.
Oh my god re: the caviar. That was nasty. Some of you were saying that people could have just sucked it up? Y'all must be some big eaters!
I went to lunch today, had spaghetti carbonarra (yum!) and could only have about a six ounce portion of it, and about two ounces of salad. That's a half-pound of food. I truly can't eat any more than that without feeling full (and I'm 5'1" and 145 lbs; I'm not a skinny girl like the first two chicks were...). My husband can pack away about a pound of food before he has to stop.
Now, these people are trying to eat *two times* as much as my husband could eat, and *four and a half times* as much as I could normally eat at a single sitting. Plus they were drinking a *lot* of water to get it down, since it's usually extremely salty. I'm not even remotely surprised that people were getting the shakes and that the one girl just went green. Besides, a little caviar may be good, but having huge clumps like that, like a huge salty snot-loogie, is just *nasty*. Your body is likely to rebel to that much food and that much saltiness, period.
Half of it was the fact that the tiny skinny girls were the ones who were doing the challenge. The heavier contestants-- the mom, the brother, and Chip-- weren't doing too badly, but they didn't like it either. I don't know how Charla could get it all in there. I was amazed.
If I ever want to apply for TAR, just remind me of the caviar, and I'll back away quietly.
[Side note: I'm now strangely rooting for Chip and Kim, and once Colin realized that Christie was in near-breakdown mode, he went from insistent team member to concerned and caring boyfriend and was pretty tender with her. It would have been sweet if she wasn't gagging... poor thing]
