Well let me go back, copy and paste the original question and answer the original question.

That's my kind of thing and I would have given you a real answer.

My advice would be to join neither for two reasons.

1) Neither DST nor AKA is truly in your heart. It may be part of your family or what you see in your community but not truly in your heart. You are trying to make a decision based on who we feel is the best of the two biggest. Of course everyone is gonna think their own view. Whether they say it or not is definitely a whole nother conversation.

2) Based on the fact that you are undecided, in my opinion, means you need to wait three to five more years before you decide anything one way or another. I'd much rather you do something as part of an Alumnae/Grad chapter you feel good about, than to fathom the thought that you may have serious regrets about your affiliation. Rushing to make a choice to beat graduation is the wrong way to go. While the social benefits may be different your impact on the community and world will be the same.

To all my SisterGreeks who responded. I understand your fervor and energy and applaud your desires to "educate" frost84 but sometimes the best way to address a questionable question is to give a simple answer or provide an appropriate resource or to say nothing at all. In my opinion, and yes this is coming from a practicitioner(sp) of back and forth, we do nothing to improve our image as the "Talented Tenth" when treat "innocent" although poorly phrased questions with low to no regard.

To frost84 I ask that you look within yourself for the answer. We all are looking for well rounded individuals who possess leadership qualities that can enhance our organizations. My question is what do you have that you can offer DST or AKA on your campus that they don't have now? And which group do you see that shares your vision of culture, community, service, scholarship and sisterhood?

When you can clearly answer those two questions you will then have the answers you seek here.

Good Luck with your research and reflection.
