An interesting observation was made by my buddy who works in law enforcement out in California. Well, my buddy pays attention to the United States Secret Service details that tag along.

Both Bush and Kerry details, have close protection agents that are primarily white males in the mid-30's to early 40's. President Bush has at least one black male agent on his team, Senator Kerry has one Filipino male agent, no blacks. So both Presidential candidates head to the Urban League on back to back days and Kerry does the NAACP gig. The next day, Senator Kerry is on the road again and surprise surprise, he has his white agents back on again.
Now this is in no way saying that he does not have black agents on his detail or that black USSS agents don't know how to do their job, but come on, you go to two events where the majority of the members are black and your agents are black, but when your back out on the road in rural 'white' America you switch back to your white guys. I don't think it is in the USSS charter to switch agents according to their race so that a candidate can look better in front of a certain audience.
