My friend joked that they if they did join different groups, then they could become their respective chapters IFC representatives and basically "run" the whole fraternity system in a few years.

Actually, she did point out that leadership possibilities would increase for each of them if they join different groups. Something that I believe happened with her and her friends. That they held various offices within their groups.
