LOL, wow that was long...i have several friends from India and the general Middle East/Asian regions and they all came to the US for college and knew what sororities were, but they probably didn't know what recs meant........there are several young ladies societies, especially among upperclass educated Indians, so i'm sure that, even if she had never heard the term sorority, she probably knows what it is.
Good for you for explaining it in such a thorough and simple way though!
I'd keep that on file for middle and high schoolers who are interested in Greek life!
