I agree here with MysticCat81.
However, I would like to add (point out more specifically) that many fraternity men feel that referring to their brotherhood as a "frat" is a sign of disrespect. Regardless if it was not intended as such. And that the
inappropriate use of "frat" speaks volumes about the person and
may reflect poorly on the organization(s) they represent.
As such, if I may offer a piece of advice. Unless you know
FOR A FACT that your use of "frat" will not be considered - either real or perceived - in a negative light, then it is best not to do so.
