Or, if a particular sorority was not getting good numbers, they'd say "I know you cut so and so, but if you want to give her another shot, we can invite her back to you party/pref". I know this is not totally with NPC rules or what not, but it works really well. All of our chapters are good and at about the same numbers. It keeps those week chapters from geting weaker.
I meanthink about it, maybe susie Q is the best rushee ever! Everyone wants her. Janie Z. is an OK girl and gets cut by everyone b/c they all want Susie-well Susie of course only picks the top houses. Janie Z really wanted a top house, but lets be honest-she'd probably be happy anywhere and a good sister if given the chance. Now, no one is forced to invite back any girls they really do not like and no pnm is forced to go to a pref she doesn't want. But if Janie Z. gets a call from her Rho Chi saying "I know you really wanted ABC or XYZ, but RRR really liked you and wants to invite youto pref-will you go?" is she gonna say no? Probably not. She might even even find that she likes them better because she thinks they like her better!
I know this wouldn't work at every school, but we love it b/c it keeps the chapters from just going after the same girls time and time again and gives all the pnm's-even the shy ones , or the ones with lower grades or whatever-a chance. Once they get that bid, and they see all the other girls in their NM class-they usally get all excited and end up glad they stayed in.

I think that's pretty cool. There are a great deal of girls that are cut every year at my school. The university noticed this, and decided to open up for expansion. By any chance as your school consider expansion as well? I think that's really neat that girls like Janie Z can get a second chance at sisterhood
