I'm not sure I understand why you can't do it?
As for designs, most places the custom make jackets will either create a design to your specifications or you can send in a design for them to fancy up. For places that are good for smaller groups, check out the Local Greeks/United Greeks site (I saw you on there!) where I posted a BUNCH of paraphernalia places that I've found to be really good. Either I've gotten stuff from them or done a trial run (for most of them) to see if they do what I like.
