sctroy is right on! You will rarely ever need an actual textbook in your class - maybe a study guide or course supplement, but not the actual book. You will have assigned reading for outside class, and then take notes while in class.
So, get two big spiral notebooks divided into 3 or 5 sections (one for MWF, and one for TTh, like he said). Take notes in them each day, and then at the end of the week you can take the pages out and transfer them into a 3-ring binder specifically for that class (so that they are all in one place).
All you'll ever need is your spiral notebook and a pen!
