I once got drunk and tried to say Adore wasn't their worst effort... I stopped drinking that night. I always wondered how they managed to sell out with Adore and lose most of their fanbase. Any clues? Typcally when you sell out, you gain more fans and your music takes a bit of a slide. Not in this case. Dont get me wrong, I like Adore, there are some stand out tracks on it (Appels + Oranjes, The Tale of Dusty and Pistol Pete, Perfect), but on the whole, it just can't stand up to any of their other CDs, not even Machina. Taking that into account, Adore doesn't even hold a candle to Siamese Dream, either Mellon Collie disk, or even some of the extended singles in the boxset.
