once again, you prove yourself to be one of the most thoughtful and well-spoken members of this board. Nicely done, I respect all that you've said - hopefully these 'brothers' of yours listen, and listen good, b/c you're exactly right.

Also - it's way off-topic, but the "maybe you can't tell" portion of this is extremely interesting, and I think you're spot-on in that assessment.

I am an Alpha in EVERYTHING that I do, but more importantly, I am a man, a BLACK man, my mother's son, a Son of Georgetown, an alumnus of the DC Public Schools. I was a whole hell of a lot of things before I became an Alpha man.

I am also a GAY man. That makes me a GAY Alpha, a GAY son of Georgetown, a GAY DCPS alumnus, etc, etc. When you look at me, maybe you can't tell and that makes you more comfortable.

There are a shitload of other things going on in Greek life that make Alpha look worse than my signature. I AM GAY. That much is a fact. I have never smoked, been drunk, done drugs, or been in a fight since the fourth grade. I have never hazed or been hazed. I created my chapter's website from NOTHING. Yet people with seven freaking posts and more years of seniority in the fraternity want to tell ME what THEY feel shouldn't be representative of my fraternity?

Damn all that!!! I have done NOTHING on GreekChat other than be who I am, and that's how I live my life outside of the internet. Should I choose to make a satirical gay joke (at my OWN expense, at that) then that's what I'm going to do.

People are so freaking scared of gay men ruining the reputation of their precious fraternities, all the while conveniently forgetting water torture, paddling, deaths, lawsuits, and myriad other problems that threaten to topple ANY GLO.

A another black homosexual is the LEAST of my fraternity's worries. Say that junk to E. Lynn Harris and Countee Cullen (RIP).
