Only a few months ago my best friend and I decided that we wanted to create our own sorority- for many different reasons. One of the main reasons was that all the other nationals on campus had stereotypes, age old traditions, and set images. We didn't like the fact that their ways were set and rushees had to hope for acceptance (we are almost the opposite- we get to know people and more or less invite them to rush us- of course there are some girls we don't know that rush, but for the most part it's a group of friends introducing and bringing in more friends and friends of friends....). This has built a really strong foundation in which we have grown individually and as a group- it's like getting in touch with yourselves, not getting lost in the crowd of such a huge sisterhood. Something that nearly every sister has said so far is that they weren't the typical sorority girl or didn't think they'd fit into the other nationals- finding their niche in the greek system is definitely what they did with our local. So far everything is going better than expected and will only get better I'm sure
