I joined ADPi the second semester of my junior year, I am on the 10 year program for History/ Social Studies Secondary Education, so I knew I had plenty of time to join ADPi. There was no choice in sorority for me except ADPi because all of my friends I met at NAU ended up ADPi's and told me I was not going anywhere else. I wanted to join a sorority but my parents told me I could not, they have since retracted that comment. I joined a social sorority, Omega Phi Alpha, but it was still missing the sisterhood and friendships I wanted. My junior year I became the Residence Hall Association's Student Affairs director so I could actually pay for the sorority I always wanted to be apart. I was initiated April 23, 2003 (that is also the day I cut my butt length hair to my chin. Initiation was great for me since only 2 people knew I cut all my hair off so the chapter's mouths dropped when they saw me.) I don't regret joining at all and have made the best friends in my life. One is my diamond sister that is getting married next Friday (July 16) and the other is Becca that I met in my first class my freshman year and we made fun of all the people that rushed. Look at us now, we're in greek life. I can't wait for jewel degree and convention since it is only up the freeway from me and is not on my birthday like the Omega Phi Alpha ones. Never fails that July 30 is in it some how.
I found out after I became an alpha that my friend's mom is an ADPi and now I have more ADPi stuff than I can believe since she is handing everything down to me. I get random calls to come pick more stuff up. I can't wait for her to find her pin since is is alternating pearl and saphire just like mine but her's is yellow gold and mine is white gold.
Sorry about anything random. I like to talk, a lot.
