Ok Me now!!
I came to Chico State as a sophomore. I spent 1 year at Sonoma State and hated it. My room-mate at Sonoma wanted me to go through rush with her but I wasn't interested and knew I wouldn't be staying there for another year.
Once at Chico I knew very few people: my boyfriend and 5 girls that he introduced me to and they asked me to live with them. One of them wanted to go through rush. Once again I really didn't want to but my boyfriend was in a fraternity and I figured at the least I would meet some people and maybe make some other friends. So we went through rush. I felt very out of place at most of the houses but felt different at the ADPi house. I met this wonderful ADPi that had the same major as myself and talked for a long time about why she joined and how she was able to do both successfully. I still hadn't decided if I would accept a bid until pref. It made up my mind. I can't say what it was, but I just felt at home.
My friend and I both received bids from ADPi and were very excited. Just before initiation she dropped out and I was afraid for about 10 minutes until I started receiving more calls than I could count. Everyone wanted to make sure that I was going to stay even though we were connected at the hip. It never crossed by mind to leave, I was just scared not having her with me.
As someone who never thought about being Greek, ADPi was the best choice I ever made.
