I'll go next.
When I got to campus I didn't want anything to do with the Greek System. In my orientation group I was the only girl not planning on going through recruitment, and none of the others would talk to me because of it. I figured I didn't need Greek life because I was doing marching band and a church group, plus I was a science major and planned on spending a lot of time in lab.
My roommate was interested in Greek Life, but was too busy sitting in bed watching 90210 reruns (she was VERY homesick). She ended up meeting on of the sisters in a class and got invited over to the house for dinner. She ended up going over several more times and received a bid. She immediately moved into the hosue and she seemed so much happier that I began to change my opinion about the Greeks.
The next semester I was invited to chapter dinner at the house by my former roommate. I loved the atmosphere of the sisterhood, and I really liked song practice (I got to go to that too!). I was invited over a few more times and was REALLY hoping to get a bid.
One night three of the sisters came to my room and offered me a bid! They actually said "We would like to offer you a bid to join ADPi" There was no question there, so I said ok, and waited for them to ask me. They looked at me like I was a freak, but then laughed and officially asked.
We went back to the house and the entire sisterhood was there in the entry way singing and welcoming me and the other two new Alphas. It was awesome!
