First founded in 1978 by an executive order of then President Jimmy Carter, the FTMP sought to gently introduce honesty into pop culture...the FTMP was among the first programs cut by Ronald Reagan upon his inauguration.
Not until the year 2000 was the program revisited, this time by a group of citizens primarily concerned with the overuse of "fish eye" lenses in hip - hop videos, a major trend at the time, and the widening "reality gap" in popular music, first detected in the Pyschedelic era.
The first and only initative of the FTMP was a series of publically-funded video PSA's for use in Public schools.
