You can get away with decorating a simple card table. Get a cool banner made (you can probably make one yourselves) get lots of photo albums/frames, plenty of flyers in bright Kinkos colors, and make everything really colorful so you stand out.
Basics of a booth are you have a base, generally 3 pieces of wood and then a "counter" of some sort to place things (albums, flyers) on top of it. You can add posts and a roof if you want. Ours does, others don't. Just depends how creative you want to get. And ALWAYS ALWAYS make sure you have a place to store and means to transfer the booth. It really sucks when you make this huge elaborate booth and you have no where to keep it during the school year... recruitment IS only a week. It's something to keep in mind. And no, booth pieces won't fit in the back of a Toyota four-door. We've tried.
