The sororities do the ad thing at IU too. I always liked to see who went where, but I'm just nosy like that.
Many of the sororities will also take out a second ad shortly after initiation.
It's very rare to see a fraternity place an ad like that though. I don't know what they do.
Although APO took out an ad when my pledge class got initiated. It was cool to see my name in one of the ads for once.
