I was a delegate to a Democratic National Convention, and was asked - no, told - to sign the agreement with the planks of the Democratic party, which includes abortion. Being young and foolish, I signed and in doing so, perjured my beliefs.
I would vastly prefer to be an Independent, but I live in a state which disenfranchises Independents in the Primary. So, I became a Republican.
