The primary reason that these arrangements are discouraged by the inter/national groups is because it can jeopardize our single sex organizational status. If we don't follow careful guidelines, we'll all be intermixed organizations. As ridiculous as it seems, even the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts have to face this challenge.

Also, when GLOs started really cracking down on hazing, we saw an insurgence of "cross-hazing", where they simply had another GLO haze their pledges for them. This was often done under the auspices of "little sis/bro-big sis/bro" type arrangements.
