Subject: All you need is a willing heart. Be Encouraged Today

Be Encouraged Today. Your help is in the Lord.

God uses unlikely people to fulfill His purposes. That means He can use you and me too. So, be used today for the Glory of God.

The men said to her (Rahab). We shall be free from this oath to you which you have made us swear, unless, when we come into the land, you tie this cord of scarlet thread in the window through which you let us down, and gather to yourself into the house your father and your mother and your brothers and all your fathers' household. Joshua 2:17-18

What an incredible act of faith from a woman living one of the most immoral lives around. Rahab was a prostitute and she had lots of reasons not to trust anyone but she chose to trust God. She believed that the God of Israel was the true God. So she protected the men sent from Joshua and trusted that they would spare her and her family just as they said they would. Rahab did what was necessary to help the Israelites. And in return, her faith and obedience paid off. Her life and that of her family was spared. She had a NEW beginning.

Amazing how God used the life of a prostitute to show us the meaning of servant hood. God showed us that through imperfect people He fulfilled His purpose. Rahab had faith. She trusted in God. And when she did, He took care of her. It's that simple. She blindly trusted that a small cord of scarlet thread would mark where her family resided and that one thing would preserve her life. She obeyed and God blessed her so much, that her name is included in the lineage of Christ. So, how is your faith today? What things are coming your way that are requiring your dependence on God? Be like Rahab. Turn from your old ways and move forward as you trust God. Let God show you the most amazing things because of your faithfulness. And blindly trust that God will take care of you just as He did Rehab.

Be Encouraged,
