She can be offended all she wants but she decided to be a willing participant in the conversation.

It seems you're projecting your job experience and problem onto hers. Yes every job is like that. In every job you have to maneuver. That's not saying only go to work and do work, but it's knowing which conversations to participate in.

Again, I'll ask you, which was better in terms of her "getting anywhere", her saying she should concentrate on work or her flipping out on the guy?
