I won't deny the fact that VW makes some really great cars. But it's pick and choose which one you get. Either you get one that has A LOT of problems, or (if you're one of the lucky few) you get one that will last several lifetimes. The biggest thing about VW's is, if you're going to buy one, check the VIN to see if it was made in Germany or the US. If possible, get one that was made in Germany - just a little trick I learned when I worked for a VW dealership.
