I consider myself Christian. I don't tend to specify. I believe what I believe and haven't really found a place that fits with all of that yet. Then again, I haven't looked very hard because it's not easy to find time with school, especially when school is in a reeeeeally tiny town!

If my deacon-in-training father heard any of this, he'd have the biggest fit ever...
The Catholic Church is okay with its members having differing opinions about certain dogma. There are exceptions like the Eucharist and basically everything in the Nicene Creed. Other than that though, the Church is very accepting of divergent viewpoints (even though there are some within that would claim otherwise).

There are a few reasons I prefer my church. Probably the biggest is the history behind it. Most of the greatest religious scholars of all time have been Catholics -- St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Anthony, yes, even Martin Luther

If you haven't, check out parts of Aquinas' Summae Theoligicae. It's HUGE, but you can probably find a 'condensed' version if you're really really bored. I had to study it in HS (Catholic HS) and it was very interesting stuff.

Good luck in your search though.
