These are alll reasons why I have pretty much not considered Maryland for when I start teaching. My brother is in middle school right now and they have this 4 period day thing. It is aweful. He only gets to go to extra-curricular classes 1 times a week. When I was there we had many classes to choose from and were able to go to each 2 or 3 times a week. I am a major supporter of the arts being taught in the schools and the way things are going we won't have them in the schools at all. It makes me mad because some people excell in these things and they make it seem like it is not important. Oh well....enough b****ing. I hope you have luck finding a school district that you like.
