My first cat did the same thing about 3.5 years back. She did ok when we took her to the vet because they hydrated her and stuff. She was good for a couple of months and then it happened again, and the 2nd time she didn't last. I was sad for days. She lived a good life, 18 years. I'm so sorry for you, it's tough to see it happen to your pets.
