These probably are, in fact, rumors.
However, I think it's realistic to point out that whenever something of this nature comes out, it is invariably denied by at least one if not both sides.
McCain obviously has aspirations for the Presidency. IF he were to decide to run with Kerry -- and IF they won, he could be running in four to eight years from a much stronger position. Of course, in this era, age could become a factor.
I suspect that this senario will not happen, however we just buried a former President who changed parties...
For that matter, I'm not aware of anything in the Constitution that prohibits members of different parties running together.
Wouldn't that be interesting?
