Dissention in the Ranks

I'm not dissenting for dissention's sake, but I noticed the marked lack of Reagan supporters in this thread. Reagan was a great man, and in my opinion, a great President. He is the only President in "recent" years that I can recall never wavering on moral issues. I support Bush, and supported his father, but both of them have been known to try to appease the liberal left while only managing to distance the religious right. Reagan made no qualms about sticking to his values. THAT makes him more of a man than many.

He also took every opportunity to inspire Americans. He once said, “Whatever else history may say about me when I’m gone, I hope it will record that I appealed to your best hopes, not your worst fears; to your confidence rather than your doubts. My dream is that you will travel the road ahead with liberty’s lamp guiding your steps and opportunity’s arm steadying your way.”

I get chills watching the tape of him standing in front of the Berlin wall and demanding "Mr. Gorbachev tear this wall down!" And did you know that President Gorbachev sent Mrs. Raegan a condolence letter??

I accept your opinions, but couldn't pass the thread without adding my own.
