I'm in DeltAlum's boat. I don't register w/ a party because I don't believe in them. I have voted for equal numbers of Democrats and Republicans and I disregard that little "-R" or "-D" next to the their name. To me it's immaterial. Their stances on my most important issues (education, health care, funding for the arts, funding for mental health, economic policy, military spending, and foreign policy) are what will attract me. I get really mad when people vote a straight ticket without first investigating who they vote for. That's one of the many reasons Alabama is in such a quandry and has been for years.
What swissmiss said. Alabama IS in this pickle for that reason. Thank you, dear.
