Thinking it over with my sons...
Many professors are almost non-existent here (you would know I'd point that out)...we wanted more McGonagall! You would think that these kids hardly go to school...
The movie seemed to be almost Hermione-oriented at the expense of Ron and Harry. Ron's part was practically limited to expressions of fear.
I can see where they had to cut things out to save time (think of "Gone with the Wind") but for heaven's sake, don't go out and make things up that weren't in the book.
