Angry So help me, the next person who compares Soul Plane to Airplane!...

...is gonna get PIMP SLAPPED! *this is after I read the aforementioned movie review*

HC I keep hearing folk say that Soul Plane is the Black version of Airplane!? NO IT IS NOT!!!

The only thing both movies have in common is that the airplane is the central theme to the movie. THATS IT!

I saw the previews to Soul Plane and I decided to pass on it, 'cause it looked like HOT GARBAGE.

Airplane! was a cleverly written comedy by the ZAZ gang (Zucker Abrahams, and Zucker) based on the 1957 Warner Bros. drama Zero Hour, which was an adaptation of Arthur Hailey's novel Runway Zero Eight.

How can ANYONE compare Airplane's original spoof formula of deadpan humor to Soul Plane's ghetto, lewd, crude, lascivious, overused, and recycled jokes and gags is beyond me.

Airplane! singlehandedly defined and set the standard for contemporary spoof humor to such an extent that the Wayans Bros. actually bit off the Zucker Bros (successfully, I might add).

Don't EVER insult the comedic talents of the Zucker Bros and Jim Abrahams by comparing them to Soul Plane ever again.

*stepping off my soapbox*.
