Since I was initiated by a graduate chapter (Epsilon Zeta chapter in Atlanta, GA), we didn't have line names or numbers. I became a Zeta as I was taking post-baccalaureate classes at Georgia State University, where the Zeta chapter (at the time) was in a state of flux. I helped rebuild the chapter, and the undergraduate sorors gave me a "line name" in order to thank me for my efforts and to make me feel more like family.

Since I'm a fairly outspoken feminist, an African American Studies scholar-in-training, and since I went to Africa 4 weeks after I became a Zeta, the undergrad sorors chose the name Sojourner Truth, which they shortened to "So True" since it described my no-nonsense, businesslike demeanor.
