1) Do you have mass transit where you live, and what type?
2) Does it get you where you need to go?
3) Does it run frequently?
4) Is the ridership composed of all classes of people? If not, is there a stigma for people who use it?
5) Is it clean and safe?

1. In Chicago we have CTA (Chicago Transit Authority). It includes buses, and trains (both elevated and underground).
2. CTA goes just about everywhere in the city. In addition there is Metra and the Pace bus that goes to the suburbs.
3. Depending on where you need to go. Most buses and trains run 24/7.
4. Everyone takes CTA. Especially if you work or are going downtown.
5. Not always clean and not always safe. I've ridden it alone in the wee hours but never ridiculously uncomfortable. Each station and train has people there and there are buttons to push if you feel uneasy. I've seen some weird things, especially on the Red Line.
