WOW. I'm sorry that happened to you!
I have both Adaware 6 and Spybot on my computer and they worked fine...no problems downloading, installing, or using. I got them from download.com.
We always run a risk downloading stuff, though...sorry to hear you have to deal with this. Good luck in the future.
