You know, my parents did the same thing. Neither of them were greek, and the only image they had to relate to was the stereotypes from the media. It took a long time for them to accept that Sigma Kappa is a part of who I am. Once they realized how much support I got from my sisters, and the kind of skills I was gaining as a member (time management, leadership, general people skills....) it got a little better. The still don't fully understand and to this day my mom thinks that it is somehting that I can just drop, even though I have explained that it is not a possibility. Just know that your sisters are here for you, and eventually, it's just something that they will accept.
