Okay here is my theory:
On all the Bachelors/Bachelorettes I have watched they always seem to chose the same two type of people as their last two. The person who is open and the person who is cynical. Now I am basing my perceptions off of Alex, Aaron, Meredith, Bob and Jesse. I did not watch Trista and Andrew (so I don't know the type of people chosen for those two shows).
Anyways.
With that said, I think that when the Bachelor (not Meredith though, although you never can tell) isn't "serious" about getting married they seem to choose the person who is cynical about the whole process.
With Aaron it was between Brooke and Helene. Brooke was very open, saying she was falling for him that she was willing to transfer to a law school where he was so they could be together and so on. While Helene was a bit more reserved about the whole process (at least in my opinion). She never said that she would up and move to be with him. And I think that is why he chose her. I think he had geniune feelings for Brooke but I think that it freaked him out a little knowing what she was willing to "give up" to be with him. While Helene on the other hand, wasn't really willing to give up anything.
With Bob it was between Kelly Jo (KJ) and Estella. KJ had told Bob that she was falling in love with him. Estella cared for him but she was a bit more reserved in expressing any of her emotions. Their relationship lasted the shortest amount of time, they broke up right after Trista and Ryan's wedding which aired in November sweeps, I believe a week or two after the Bachelor aired it's last episode with him choosing Estella.
As for Meredith, well it's all up in the air right now. Matthew was the much more open man, wearing his heart on his sleeve. While Ian really couldn't open up to her (which she states on several occasions). The only good thing was that it left Matthew a single man for all the adoring women fans out there (Bri is raising her hand). Only time will tell about this relationship.
So with all that said, I think who Jesse picks tonight will just determine whether he really wants to be married or not. With my theory (which you can feel free to disagree about just please respect that it is my opinion) if he chooses Jessica he will want to marry and they might (a very very big might b/c so far no Bachelor relationship has survived) make it down the aisle. With Tara, if he chooses her, I think the relationship will eventually reach the skids and they will break up.
Anyone else have theories about the Bachelors and the women they choose?
Bri
