I just want to make sure that anyone who is considering owning a pug knows a few things about the breed...

1) As mentioned before in this thread, their eyes are extremely delicate and can develop quite a number of problems.

2) They shed. If you don't want a dog that sheds-- DO NOT GET A PUG...

3) They cannot withstand being outside dogs. Their coat is not thick enough to protect them in the cold winter, but it is too thick to have them as an "outside" dog in the summer. They are housedogs.

4) They claim you as theirs... If you don't want a dog that demands attention and loving, then again -- DO NOT GET A PUG.

Having said those statements, my pugs are like children to me and my family. They are SUCH a joy to have around... I wouldn't trade mine for the WORLD.
