Admitting as I do that reality TV shows are notoriously cheap to produce, and therefore popular with networks, cable outfits, and their content suppliers, I have a couple of nagging questions about the article:

** It seems to be an unspoken supposition that the casting would be heavily Greek, and that fraternity and sorority concerns are of prime importance -- why? With all due respect, at Mizzou about 20% of male undergrads, and 25% of female, are Greek, so if the cast were __statistically__ representative, it would be skewed toward "independents," if anything.

** Dating can produce "drama," especially if edited for maximum manipulative effect, but it's not the be-all and end-all of campus life. In addition some women -- and men -- might feel that essentially parading a batch of women around for several weeks to see which one will win the guy is a bit -- well, is demeaning the word I'm looking for?

But hey, if Mizzou wants to do this, fine by me. Can't really be much worse than the PR they've had in the past year with --

-their president (and his wife),

-the story in a campus alternative paper that sparked NPHC, IFC, and NPC concerns about lack of understanding of African-American students' traditions and issues,

- the blood drive debacle,

- and the cannon flap.

There's no "I' in "team" -- and there's no "a" in "definitely."
