Thanks for all of the advice. I have already graduated from school and I have been doing some volunteer work with an alumnae chapter in my area. I guess my main concern is that the chapter is small and although I like the members I am not sure if I have met enough people or know enough about the organization to know that it is the right one for me. I have been to the international website as well as the websites of all the NPHC organizations. Since the information on these sites is public I feel like it is very generic and it is hard for one organization to stand out from the rest. I have a feeling that the chapter I am working with my invite me to join their organization in the not so distant future. If and when that time comes I want to be ready to make an informed decision and I just do not feel like I know enough. Joining an organization like this one is a lifetime commitment and I want to be ready to make that commitment if my time comes. Maybe I am jumping the bullet a little bit, becuase I do not know if I will be extended an invitation. I just want to be prepared in case I am. I also want to meet members a little closer to my own age. I have only been out of college for a year and these women have been out for sometime most have been members of the organization for 5 or more years. I wanted to be able to talk to people who are in my situation or have been there before. Everyone I meet on the web wants to be an AKA of a delta and I know that those are not the right organizations for everyone. Sorry for the long post and thanks for the advice.
