DENPASAR, Bali (AFP): An Australian who hanged himself after being jailed for 13 years for child sex offenses has left a letter complaining that he is a victim of media hysteria.
Lawyers for William Stuart Brown released the letter on Thursday, a day after he hanged himself in his prison cell on Indonesia's Bali island.
I Nengah Maharsa, one of the lawyers, said Brown wrote the letter on Monday, a day before he was sentenced by a court in the eastern town of Amlapura. He said they planned to release it at a press conference Wednesday.
