This morning, on the Tom Joyner Morning Show, Tom started his "Express Yourself" segment of the show. Well many Black people were calling in, expressing their frustrations with last night's American Idol.
Well, it was really the same old argmegnts and complaints until this White lady called and said that the reason why the Black female singer (I forgot her name) got booted off was probably because of Tom's show. She said that, at first, she very actively voted for her (the Black girl) because she clearly believed that she was the best singer on the show.
She said that she voted for the girl until Tom Joyner and Jay, a couple of days ago, said something about "The Whites have got to go...." on the show. After that, she said that she was so mad, she called ALL of her friends and intentionally voted for the White or non-Black people. She said that she did this strictly because of the "mess" that Tom Joyner and Jay said on their morning show a couple of days ago. She said that other White people across the nation that listen to his show probably did the same thing. (Jay promply hung up on her)
Now, even through all of the racial stress that this show is receiving, do you think that her point has some truth to it?
Do you think that certain Black programs, such as the Tom Joyner Morning Show, are talking so bad about all of this racial stuff with American Idol that it is actually hurting, rather than helping, the cause?
Are our "untactful" outcries for racial justice just putting more fuel on the fire?
Be honest.....
Indulge me......
