Bobby Brown is not happy about his recent appearance on Dateline NBC. In an upcoming issue of Sister2Sister Magazine Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown reveal all. Bobby says he didn’t like how he came across during the interview. He felt NBC and reporter Stone Philips tricked him. I thought Bobby came across as sincere as he talked about his need to get his life together. Bobby and Whitney are gearing up for their reality TV show and Whitney is very involved. The Whitney and Bobby reality show will show the couple…warts and all. Whitney says she loves her man and it’s her job as a wife to help her man out financially. She claims, “What’s mine is his.” They also say they will overcome their drug addiction together.
Brandy is making confessions about her life. If it worked for Usher I guess she figures it can work for her. After a secret marriage, baby and divorce Brandy now says she wasn’t in love with her husband Robert Smith. Brandy says she realized she had to do her own thing and she is now dating basketball player Quentin Richardson of the Los Angeles Clippers. Brandy’s new album, Afrodisiac comes out in late June and Brandy is talking about everything. Word has it her husband left her when he realized he wasn’t the father of her daughter. Will Brandy talk about this? On her first single “Let’s Talk About Our Love” she alludes to the fact that his family wasn’t feeling her and got in the way. Famed producer Rodney Jerkins is Robert’s cousin and when Robert married Brandy he went on record saying he didn’t approve of the union. In other Brandy news, according to published reports, she is very jealous of Beyonce’s success and popularity. Brandy ran into Kelly Rowland of Destiny’s Ch ild and she started bad mouthing Beyonce. Kelly just ignored her and got out of her way. Filming started this week on the new Pink Panther movie. Steve Martin steps into the Peter Sellers role as ‘Inspector Clouseau’ and Beyonce will play pop star Xania. Beyonce is also co-writing and producing songs for the movie soundtrack. The movie opens in theatres next summer.
On Monday May 17th, Lionel Richie and Cedric The Entertainer will be hosting the Motown 45 music special on ABC. The show airs at 8pm and will feature Gladys Knight, Brian McKnight, Smokey Robinson, India Aire and Michael McDonald. Lionel’s daughter Nicole returns to TV in June with the Fox show The Simple Life. Nicole stars with Paris Hilton and this time the two will be cruising across the country in an SUV. Word has it the two best friends have not been getting along and they barely spoke to each other during the filming of the TV series. I guess they’ll be doing a lot of editing.
Is Shemar Moore thinking about returning to daytime TV? Shemar played the popular “Malcolm” on the Young and the Restless but he left two years ago to pursue other opportunities. During a recent interview Shemar says he wouldn’t mind coming back.
Comedian Dave Chapelle will be doing a Showtime network comedy special this summer.
June Pointer says she’s innocent of drug charges. June is due back in court to answer charges of drug possession. June has battled addictions for years. She says she is now homeless and her sisters Ruth and Anita have fired her from their group, The Pointer Sisters. June says the only person who will have anything to do with her is their sister Bonnie. June says the drugs that were found were not hers but because of her history she was arrested anyway.
Al Green is now a doctor! Over the weekend Al Green received an honorary doctorate from Owen College in Memphis.
Quincy Jones is gearing up for his “We are the Future” benefit concert that takes place on the 16th, in Rome, Italy. The benefit will air on MTV and it will benefit needy children in war torn countries. Jay-Z, Eve, Alicia Keys, Take Six, Oprah Winfrey, Chris Tucker and Muhammad Ali will be on hand for the festivities.
Stevie Wonder will be releasing his first album in nine years on June 8th. Stevie’s new album is called A Time 2 Love. Stevie will be everywhere promoting the new CD including Oprah, Primetime Live, BET’s Blueprint, Jay leno, Ellen Degeneres and Larry King Live.
At the movies this week it’s Jamie Foxx, Gabrielle Union and Morris Day in Breakin all the Rules.

Media mogul Benny Medina made Jennifer Lopez a star, he’s making singer Brandy a bad girl, and now he’s set to work his magic on Latin hunk Ricky Martin. A few years ago Ricky was on top of the world with “Livin’ La Vida Loca” and “She-Bang,” but his star faded fast. Ricky is very talented and he is looking to jump-start his career. Can Benny work his magic on Ricky?
Now that Jermaine Jackson is no longer in the inner circle with his brother Michael, sources say he wants to write a book. Jermaine needs to make money and he is looking to tell the real story about the Jackson family, their father Joe, and Michael. I wonder will he talk about how he betrayed his brother Randy when he ran off with Randy’s baby momma.
Mrs. Tom Joyner, fitness expert Donna Richardson, says her new workout tape will feature gospel music. Donna says she will be teaming up with gospel artists like Yolanda Adams to put together a praise workout tape that can be distributed to churches.
The Tony Awards air June 6th, on CBS. Phylicia Rashad, Sanaa Lathan and Audra McDonald are nominated for their work in the new Broadway revival of “A Raisin in the Sun.”

Actor/director Keenan Ivory Wayans has filed for divorce from his wife of three years, Daphne. “Irreconcilable differences” has been cited as the cause of the divorce. They have five children ranging in ages from
10 months to 11 years old. This summer Keenan’s new movie, White Chicks, hits the big screen. The movie stars his brothers Shawn and Marlon who play undercover cops posing as white schoolgirls to investigate some crooked dealings at a local school.
Motown is headed for Broadway. Motown founder Berry Gordy is producing a new Broadway show called ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” which will tell the Motown story.
Denzel Washington says he’s tired of being the bad guy. He won as Oscar for his role as the bad cop in Training Day and he’s scoring rave reviews for his role in Man on Fire, but Denzel says he doesn’t want to be typecast. He says he would like to do a comedy role. Maybe team up with Jim Carey, Tom Hanks or Eddie Murphy. Denzel’s next movie, The Manchurian Candidate, opens this summer.
Mariah Carey is coming out with a line of children’s clothes. Let’s hope the attire is less provocative than her own skimpy clothing.
