We just did a really cool revealing ceremony. First, we(the pledges) had to do the whole untangle the string thing. At the end of each string was half of a poem(of course it was on cardboard and all decorated and everything). We took the poems downstairs to the darkened community room, and lined up in initiation order. As we walked in, the sisters sang nice songs as we formed a small circle in the middle of the room. The sisters were in a big circle outside of us. We were given a candle, which was passed to each of us so that we could read the poem card that we had been given. After each pledge read her card (which had half of a poem written on it), her Big would come up behind her and finish reading the poem off of a card of her own. It was so cool to be reading the poem, not knowing who your big was, and then hear her voice finishing it. Everyone's face just completely lit up when they heard and recognized the voice of their Big. After that, we turned on the lights for pictures, talking, and commemoritive gifts (champaign with the names and date written on the bottle- not to be opened until the pledge goes through the reaveling ceremony as a big). After that, we went back to our lounge and had champaign and hung out. It was awesome!
