I don't see it as Max being jealous of Bird. I see it as WTF is wrong with my sister!?!?!?!?!?!? I see a hint of jealousy overall towards both sisters though.
Oh and I predict that Max goes into labor in the final ep as a sort of BACK TO THE BEGINNING re: Soul Food the movie.
