Just to add to decadence's post:
After installing Adaware and Spybot, make sure you scan for firmware updates. When you download these programs, they sometimes will not come with the newest firmware updates. These updates are important since spyware is constantly changing and finding new ways of hiding itself on your PC. These updates will help get rid of the newest spyware.
Make sure to scan for firmware updates about every month or so.
