That was the last time my parents ever hit me.
When I was bad, I used to get a beating. I was hit several times in the head and I mean hard. Sometimes it was closed fist sometimes it was open hand. But I was get the head, the face, the back, the bottom, the chest. Whatever was closer to my father would get hit and that was usually the head. I was threatened to be thrown through walls, doors, windows, etc.
Do I consider myself abused. No. I was only ever hit when I was bad and that wasn't very often, but it was a beating.
But you can be damned sure that if I'm old enough and big enough if my parents ever hit me now I would defend myself.
If kids start hitting back, it's time to find another method of punishment because spanking doesn't work.
