Wow, AGDee, that REALLY IS bad! I'm not sure if my story could beat that. Anyway, back in high school, a friend of mine, B, set me up on a date for a Valentine's Day semi-formal. I was told that he was very nice, cute, and played hockey . Another friend of mine, K, was hosting a dinner party prior to the semi, and I would be meeting the date there. He was supposed to arrive with my friend, but didn't. He arrived about an hour later, just as everyone was having dessert. OK, fine, so he had something to do before. So B introduced me to him, and K was like, "hey, have some pasta and cake". The date was "uhh, my mom fed me already." (he wouldn't even have the cake!) OK, maybe that was why he was late. Then, around 9:30 or so, people were starting to head to the school for the dance. B then tells me that she had to "go home to get something" and that she and J (my date) would "meet me at school". We get to school, and they show up a few minutes later. We go into the dance, music blares, etc. A bit later, she and J disappear! I ended up slow dancing with another girl's date (which she later finds out that I had a huge crush on...long story) I never found out what happened to J, nor do I really care now. I think B wanted to set me up with him so she could have him too. Strange thing is, B had a date that night too.

ETA: I forgot to mention that J hardly spoke to me at all! I tried the usual, school questions, like "what's your favourite class?" as well as "So I hear you play hockey. How long have you played?"...I got one word answers!
